THE BUFFET
Sex and baked beans and used cars... The Buffet is a storytelling punk rock / garage rock outfit from the home of brewing, Burton upon Awesome, in the middle of the Midlands in the UK. Fast, loud with catchy tunes that'll stick in your head, The Buffet was born when Dave House (vox and guitars) and Bez Berry (bass) met at uni. Heavy riffs and partying followed. The Buffet developed over the years as a collective of Midlands musicians playing bars and having fun. The band became a regular on the local scene and featured at the F1 event at Silverstone. The lineup formalised in 2019 with Rich Enion (drums) and Andi Jepson (vox and lead guitars) joining. As a four-piece, the band took the tunes that had developed in Dave's head, halved them in length, and doubled them in tempo. The Buffet as it is now, came to life. Dave's Used Cars, the first single from the upcoming EP aired on BBC Introducing Radio X and Monster Rock Radio. The track was described as ‘Idles meets Blur and jumps into bed for a fumble with the Arctic Monkeys.’ 2022 sees the release of the bands first EP ‘Anxiety Project*’ - with a live session at the BBC in early 2023 followed by a UK tour in the spring. *Buffet Anxiety is a condition that Dave fights with at every formal event. Knowing that when a buffet opens, there is only a small window of opportunity to score an egg sandwich before the edges go a bit crispy. It's a struggle we all live with, in our own unique way. Or something.
